Promoting conservation in Kewaunee County

Muskrat City Sportsman’s Club is an active club that promotes conservation, education and sportsmanship relating to all outdoor pursuits. The clubhouse resides in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin on 70 acres that is managed for local wildlife, as well as recreational opportunities for its members.

Scholarship of $750

The award will be distributed upon proof of registration at a postsecondary institution.

 

Selected students will be asked to appear for a personal interview with the Algoma Area Education Foundation Inc. Scholarship Committee.

Deadline: April 18, 2025

Scholarship Requirements

Criteria

  • Must be a graduate of Algoma High School. 

  • Must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year institution.

  • Show academic achievement.

  • Involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.

Additional Considerations (in order of importance)

  • Applicants that are pursuing their education in a Natural Resources based field.

  • Applicants that are pursuing their education in Agricultural Studies.

  • Other applicants, as the scholarship selection committee deems appropriate.  While not considered a preferential consideration, applicants that have demonstrated an interest in outdoor related activities (conservation, agricultural, hunting/fishing, shooting sports, etc.), would be in line with the mission of the Muskrat City Sportsman’s Club.

Application and Essay

  • Complete the scholarship application including a copy of your high school transcript from 8th semester.

  • Write a well-though out essay answering the following question: "How has your involvement in outdoor related activities helped you grow individually, expand your interest in this field, and help your community?"
