Graphic saying Electrician, Plumbing, and HVAC to represent the Bob Junio scholarship.

Bob Junio

The Bob Junio Fund offers a $1000 scholarship, paid in two $500 installments, to a worthy high school senior planning to attend a technical school for the trade of electrician, plumber, or heating and cooling.

Bob Junio

Lifelong Resident of Algoma

Bob Junio is a lifelong resident of Algoma and graduated from Algoma High School in 1973. After graduation, Bob enrolled in the one-year Construction Electricity Technical Program and received his technical diploma. Bob worked at Peterson Builders Incorporated (PBI) from 1974 until the time of their closure in 1995. At that time, he decided to open his own business, Junio Electric Inc, where he completed electrical work for customers in Algoma and the surrounding area. With the shortage of electricians, plumbers and other trades, Bob established this scholarship fund to encourage entry into the trades. His wish, although not a requirement, is that after graduation the applicant will serve customers in Algoma and the surrounding area.

Scholarship of $1,000

The award offers a $1000 scholarship, paid in two $500 installments. Installment one will be paid upon proof of admission to the school, while the second installment will be paid upon proof of admission to the second semester of the program.

Selected students will be asked to appear for a personal interview with the Algoma Area Education Foundation Inc. Scholarship Committee.

Deadline: April 18, 2025

Criteria

  • Must be a graduate of Algoma High School.
